the over-the-phone support sucks. but their crews are pretty darn awesome. the guy came only a few minutes after the beginning of the allotted time period and he came in, measured the signal strength at both the router and the cable box. then he went downstairs to look at the splitter cables and measured the strength again. he replaced some connectors on the cable modem hookup and the thing works like a charm now. however, the signal is weak for the tv because of something on the cable line itself. so people are coming out tomorrow to fix the thing. charter did a pretty good job with the manual labor part of this issue. too bad their phone support isn't any good.
