My next-to-last quarter as an undergraduate student at the University of Washington begins in only a few days (we start back up on January 3rd) and I'm finally on the tail-end of my bioengineering coursework. I'm done with the core classes and only need two more senior elective classes in addition to my capstone project. This will be my first quarter with only 12 credits, which is the minimum for maintaining full-time student status. Since 3 of those credits are accounted for by my capstone project, I'm really only taking 9 credits across two classes.
My only bioengineering class is BIOEN 455: BioMEMS (Introduction to Biological Microelectromechanical Systems) and covers state-of-the-art techniques in patterning biomolecules, machining three-dimensional microstructures, and building microfluidic devices. It's my first more structural/mechanical bioengineering class and should be really interesting.
The other class is an Honors Civ class (HONORS 392A: Science and the Master Narrative) that explores the "profound turn in human thought - the emergence of a master scientific narrative of the human experience." The class looks at the effects of science and scientific discovery upon humanity over its existence. As my last honors class, I'm excited to be done with the program requirements.
Hopefully the quarter won't be anywhere near the nightmare of last quarter. Between 18 credits of class, my capstone project, and frantically applying to graduate schools, I didn't have much time to stop and do much of anything. I plan on dedicated a significant portion of my time to my capstone project and hopefully advance it significantly towards some of my more ambitious goals.
I still can't believe I'm almost done with college.

I can't believe you're almost done with college either. Are you sure you're not a junior in disguise?
